Saving Private Ryan

Saving Private Ryan is one of the best WWII films out there, especially when you consider its D-Day portrayal. Now, to focus in on that moment that Tom Hanks, playing Captain Miller, and Matt Damon, playing Private Ryan, speak about everything they left behind. If you recall Damon as Ryan tells Hanks about watching his brother kiss a girl. Turns out, Matt Damon improvised that whole thing!

This is Spinal Tap

No one ever intended for This is Spinal Tap to be taken seriously. The film followed a fake UK rock band. I mean you had Americans putting on fake accents to play a spoof of the 80’s rock-style life. Majority of the film consisted of the actors inventing as they filmed. Actually, since the cast came up with so much of the material, they got writing credits on the film. So that line, “It’s such a fine line between stupid and clever,” was totally improvised!
