Just before this whole thing went down, she had taken on the role in Brainstorm, opposite Christopher Walken. Many thought she only accepted because nothing better was being offered to her at the time. That was the same time when Wagner had prime-time success on the show, Hart to Hart.
Grieving Widow
Despite the mysterious death and suspicions around it, Wagner went on to have a blossoming career. Of course, this was way before any of the Me Too movement stuff, and Hollywood and the public just acted as though he was simply a grieving widow, not possible killer or abuser. He kept filming Hart to Hart and also starred as Number Two in the Austin Powers films. He continued to have mainstream success.
