Wilder Was Picky About His Costume

Everything Wilder committed to, he took very seriously. Apparently, he also had strong opinions on his Wonka costume. The first sketches did not sit well with him, so he wrote a letter to director Mel Stuart. He suggested a better suit to fit the character.
