Callery Pear

The Callery Pear tree is so pretty that it is hard to believe that it is such a problem. While it first was introduced to the United States in the 1900s as an ornamental tree, and it was bred to produce sterile fruit, it can still hybridize with other pears that do produce fertile fruit, causing the trees to spread out of control.

Earleaf Acacia

The Earleaf acacia is named for its distinctive fruit pod. While its name might be a little funny, the fact that it is so invasive is not. It is especially an issue in the south, this tree grows up to 60 feet high and can produce about 47,000 seeds per year. They do well in areas with poor nutrients and take over rocklands and pinelands, trampling any native species in their way.
