Did you know that Natalie Portman is not only an incredible actor, but that she was also a successful academic? While she is renowned for her Oscar-winning roles in movies like Black Swan, Portman also studied at Harvard, where she got her BA in Psychology. Portman was involved in some pretty hefty research while there, and contributed to a paper on the frontal lobe. She also said that she didn’t care if college ruined her acting career, because she would rather be ‘smart than a movie star.’ Portman is such an inspiration!

Lupita Nyong’o is well-known and beloved for her role in Star Wars, but something that not many fans know is that she has really paved the way for people like her. Her heritage is Kenyan-Mexican, and she was the first woman with such a background to win an Academy Award. Her success is no accident, either; she is a highly-trained actor, and has a Master’s degree in acting from Yale University. Good for her!
