Saudi Arabia is the final significant monarchy on the planet. Since it became a nation on September 23, 1932, the Al Saud family has ruled the country.

Based the wives Al-Saud had, the royal family is divided into different clans. The current king, King Salman, comes from the Sudairi clan. Actually, the clans take turns on the throne. So, the king after Salman isn’t supposed to be part of the Sudairi clan. However, when Mohammed bin Salman was named deputy crown prince, this secured the future of the throne in what the people refer to as the Sudairi Seven clan or the seven full brothers from the House of Saud.
