King Hussein’s Wife
Princess Muna al-Hussein actually happened to first be known as Antoinette Avril Gardiner, since she was born in the United Kingdom. She converted to Islam in order to become the king’s second wife, after the two met on the set of Lawrence of Arabia. The couple bore four children together – King Abdullah II, Prince Faisal, Princess Aisha and Princess Zein (twins).
Girl Power
The current king’s sister, Princess Aisha, made world headlines when she became the first woman in the Arab world to receive “wings” as a parachutist. That’s not where the surprises end with this princess; she currently holds the rank of major general in the Jordanian Army.
