Kevin Coster was offered the part of Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption which he decided to turn down in order to star in Waterworld. The issue is that the huge budget film of Waterworld ended up becoming one of the worst films of all time. Of course, Shawshank is considered one of the best movies of all time.
