He was offered the role of Ren McCormack in the smash hit Footloose, and he decided to pass it up in order to appear in the film All the Right Moves. It seems like it was the wrong move, as Footloose became one of the most successful films of the 1980’s.

Will Smith was offered the role of Neo in The Matrix, but he decided to turn down the role saying his vision for the role didn’t align with the filmmakers’, opting to star in the film Wild Wild West instead. The movie was a huge flop, and Keanu Reeves ended up starring as Neo in the incredibly successful film franchise.
