A Second Adoption
It turns out that Martha had actually adopted Mark all those years ago. Devastated about losing her daughter, she felt she had to have another child so she could go on with her life. She couldn’t have a child herself at that point, so she adopted Mark, who always knew that he was adopted. Of course, to Martha he was and always would be her son, but they were not related by blood, which was actually quite lucky at this point.

After the rough emotional roller coaster they all went through, Holly and Mark were just relieved that they were not related. They were so in love, and they were beyond thrilled that they could get married without any issues. Holly married the love of her life and gained a new mother all on the same day. She couldn’t wait to get to know Martha and begin this new chapter in life.
