VIP’s

VIP’s first came on the scene in 1968 and quickly became Oregon’s largest chain restaurant. It also offered sit down dining options and was typically open 24 hours a day. You could compare VIP’s to Denny’s menu-wise. However, by 1989, all of its locations were closed down.

Schrafft’s

Schrafft’s was founded way back in 1898 and started out as a candy shop in Boston. It later evolved into a restaurant and opened New York City locations. Business was booming in the 1920’s and 30’s and expanded to more food options, though it offered many more desserts than anything else. However, over 100 years later, the restaurant was no longer profitable and shut down for good in 1984.
