Michael Vick

In 2007, NFL star Michael Vick was famously found guilty of harboring a dogfighting ring in his house. He was convicted and spent time in jail. Additionally, his $130 million contract was withdrawn and he had no money left. Once he was released, Vick was able to make an NFL comeback and is back on track. However, many NFL managers have vowed never to hire him due to his past.

Richard Rufus

Richard Rufus had a successful but short soccer career in the early 2000s. He was even one of the most highly paid players on the Charlton Athletic team. A career-ending injury in 2004 left him without a job, but despite his loss of income, he did not stop spending. In 2013, he declared bankruptcy and by 2019, he was due in court for owning 5.3 million euros of criminal property and fraud charges. Prosecutors said that Rufus was spent“large proportion on his personal expenses and lifestyle.”
