Can you believe that before 2015, women in Saudi Arabia weren’t allowed to vote? King Abdullah reversed the law in 2011, stating that just four years later, women would now be given the right to vote. Saudia Arabia comes in as the last nation to let women vote.

In the London 2012 Olympics, the entire team of Saudi Arabia was going to possibly be disqualified for gender discrimination for not letting women participate. When Crown Prince Nayef died in 2012, Prince Salman who is much more liberal, decided to allow female athletes to compete. This was the first time Saudi Women were allowed to compete in the Olympic games…finally!
