Though Steven Spielberg wanted Harrison Ford to play Indiana Jones, George Lucas wanted Tom Selleck in the main role instead. However, Selleck had contract issues as he was the main star of Magnum P.I. While that show was successful, there’s no comparing it to the success of the Indiana Jones franchise.

Hugh Jackman – James Bond
Hugh Jackson was offered the iconic role of James Bond in the film Casino Royale. Unfortunately, he was already under contract to star in X2: X-Men United. Daniel Craig was given the role of Bond instead and he went on to star as 007 in several more films. Jackman said he would still be very interested in playing Bond if he was offered another chance.
