More recently, body positivity is the most popular. The idea is to encourage women of all colors, sizes, backgrounds, and shapes to feel beautiful and empowered, even if they don’t fit a specific body type that someone else has determined.

Many companies have cottoned on to that idea. Brands like Aerie are opting to choose diverse groups of models with various sizes, shapes, and body types. Plus, they don’t retouch the photos, so those “imperfections” of years past are welcomed with open arms!
