Tawny Kitaen

Tawny Kitaen, or Julie, again was more than just a huge rock ‘n’ roll fan. Kitaen starred opposite Tom Hanks in the movie Bachelor Party (1984) and lots of music videos. If you’re curious to see her work, check out Whitesnake’s videos for “Here I Go Again” and “Still of the Night” to name a few. Though, best known for her short marriage to Whitesnake’s David Coverdale from 1989 to 1991, Kitaen previously dated Robbin Crosby, the RATT guitarist. Her groupie days started when she began following bands to Los Angeles in the 1970s. Yet, now she boasts a pretty impressive acting career of her own!

Our next groupie actually inspired the movie character in Almost Famous, played by the beloved Kate Hudson! Not only that, she was the muse for “Penny Lane” by the Beatles. Surely, her babysitting gig for Frank Zappa, as well as getting to know musicians on LA’s Sunset Strip elevated her status in the music world. Her intimate position in the rock scene led to many famous affairs. She got involved with Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page, Keith Moon and Jim Morrison to name a few. Oh, also she’s dabbled in a bit of everything herself. She’s not only a musician but an author and actress too.
