Obviously, groupies did not just spend time in the scene for the musicians. It was about the music for many of them. Thus, these passionate groupies formed a band called The GTOS. Actually, Frank Zappa helped the seven girls break out onto the scene. Unfortunately, they only stayed together until 1970, releasing just on album.

Well, to be fair, Pamela Manning was not a traditional Guns N’ Roses groupie. Manning got paid for her onstage dances. Not to mention, she appears in several music videos for them. Though, Manning has claimed during interviews that the groupie image damaged her chances for a more serious career. In fact, band members allegedly followed her around and joked that they should be labeled groupies for this behavior.
