Well I first read this book back in the 8th grade, I absolutely loved it, S. E. Hinton captured the minds of confused teenagers perfectly, perhaps because she was a teenager herself when writing this novel. We are not just referring to America but since publication in 1967, the novel has sold 9.6 copies everywhere.
