When it comes to co-parenting kids after going through a separation or divorce, things can get complicated very quickly. Of course, in an ideal world, we would all remain courteous and strike the right balance of being cordial and friendly without being too friendly or too snarky. However, sometimes life doesn’t work out that way. We imagine that going through divorce in the public eye is infinitely worse, but it seems like these celebrity couples are actually doing alright when it comes to co-parenting their kids.
Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman
Drew Barrymore and her ex Will Kopelman have the ideal co-parenting living situation where they live separately but still in the same city, in their case it’s New York City. That means that traveling between parents doesn’t involve much. In fact, they even took their kids trick or treating together with Kopelman’s new wife Alexander Michler. Barrymore even refers to Michler as “my daughters’ wonderful stepmother.”
Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy, Chris Robinson
Kate Hudson has to juggle co-parenting with not one ex, but two: Matt Bellamy and Chris Robinson. She is also raising a child with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa. She told The Sunday Times: “It might not look traditional from the outside, but on the inside, I feel like we’re killing it. The unit that I’ve created with three children with three different fathers is a seriously strong unit, and it’s ours.”
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin
Who can forget the divorce announcement that was heard ’round the world? When these two announced that they were separating, they called is “consciously uncoupling,” which was widely mocked at the time. However, it seems like these two were onto something, by taking apart their relationship with care, they were able to minimize the damage on the family unit. Paltrow said on The Drew Barrymore Show: “It’s like you’re ending a marriage, but you’re still in a family. That’s how it will be forever.”
Demi Moore and Bruce Willis
Demi Moore and Bruce Willis have three grown children together, but when it came to quarantining during the pandemic, they decided to all quarantine together so that they would not have to be apart for so long. Moore even referred to her ex as “our beloved Bruce” when he was diagnosed with aphasia.
Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen
Though their divorce is still quite fresh, it was settled so quickly that we don’t think there will be a lot of tension between Tom and Gisele when it comes to co-parenting. In fact, she shared: “My priority has always been and will continue to be our children, whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care, and attention they greatly deserve.”
