Red Gerard is not your average 17 year old American boy or maybe he kind of is in certain ways. During the 2018 Winter Olympics this legend woke up later after falling asleep to Netflix. He frantically couldn’t locate his jacket, borrowed his roommate’s, got to his snowboarding event just on time, and then had an amazing run! He scored lots of points for style, and became America’s first gold for the games and the youngest to win it at the 2018 Winter Olympics. That’s not it. While hearing his score, he cursed on TV. No wonder the internet became obsessed with him!

Adam Rippon is the first openly gay Olympian to qualify for the Winter Games. He became a fan favorite not just from his incredible ice skating performances, but also his bold and charming personality. Celebrities like Sally Fields, Zach Braff and Reese Witherspoon reached out to him on Twitter. Also, he was outspoken about Vice President Mike Pence’s anti-gay stance, and thus, refused to attend the post-Olympics celebration with the VP at the White House. He also posted pictures with Gus Kenworthy, fellow gay Olympian, to call out Pence on his anti-gay agenda, but also celebrate their sexuality.
