Larissa Kelly won $222,597 in six games and then $1,000 during the seventh game. Amazingly, her husband and sister also competed on Jeopardy!, making her one of three family members to compete on the show. Without tournament winnings, Larissa ranks the second highest winnings for a female Jeopardy! player. This science fiction writer studied the history of archaeology from 19th century Mexico for her PhD. That’s not something you hear everyday!

Back in 1989, he won five games, taking home $82,501. Since then, he’s appeared in other tournaments for the show, winning an additional $115,000. He donated a substantial portion of those winnings to the Missionaries of Charity, located in New York. Years later when the show checked in and asked if he had done anything wild with the money, he responded, “I am a Canadian and an actuary. What do you think?”
