Talk about a MacGyver move, costume designer Deborah Nadoolman borrowed a Swiss army knife from Ford along with a steel brush and aged the jacket overnight. Before the first day of shooting for Raiders of the Lost Ark was set to begin. Her hands were splintered with steel for weeks.

Simply coming off as uber cool was not Ford’s intention when he shot the Cairo swordsman in Raiders, he actually was having a little trouble with a bout of food poisoning that forced him back to the trailer every few minutes.
