NBA Wives And Girlfriends
Behind every great man is an even greater woman, and that saying is nowhere more true than within the National Basketball Association. The girlfriends, partners, and wives of NBA superstars stand by their man’s side through victory, defeat, and injury, both during and after their career. It’s not all glitz and glamour either, what with NBA stars’ intense training and workout schedules, away games, specific diets, travelling, not to mention all the scrutiny from the public.
And don’t get us started on all that time away from home! It’s almost impossible to find time to kick back and unwind with such a busy season. All that alone time pushes NBA wives to be independent and resourceful, traits not everyone possesses. While being an NBA wife certainly comes with advantages, it has its drawbacks too.
The women on this list are certainly beautiful, but that’s not all! They’re also smart, career-driven entrepreneurs with fulfilling careers in their own rights. For example, take Alani Nicole Anthony, Carmello Anthony’s wife. Better known as “La La,” Alani started off as a famous VJ for MTV’s Total Request Live, going on to host reunion episodes of “I love New York,” “Flavor of Love,” and “Real Chance of Love.” She also acted as a Dean on Ricki Lake’s “Charm School.” In addition, she’s played in a number of films, including 50 Cent’s “Power.” She and Carmello became engaged in 2004, and their courtship and ensuing relationship were documented on the shows “La La’s Full Court Wedding” and “La La’s Full Court Life.”
Chris Webber
Best known for his playboy lifestyle, Chris Webber made a name for himself on the basketball court. However, he settled down a bit after meeting his future wife, Erica Dates, in 2007. They married two years later, in 2009. Valued at $143 million, Webber is one of the wealthiest players on this list. He uses his wealth to find Time Out, founded in 1993, to help youth by offering recreational opportunities. Webber, retired from basketball, currently works as a TV analyst in addition to heading his organization.
