From 2003 to 2010, six unbelievable seasons of American Chopper had us all glued to our screens. Who knew that watching Paul Teutul Sr. and his son Paul Jr. create custom-made motorcycles could be so hypnotic? The show had us all wishing that we had one custom-made for ourselves! Each episode took us behind the scenes of the not-so-simple and definitely not-so-calm lives of the legends of the OCC team.

Today there are shows about everything! A show about kids who train ants to build water-slides, or a show about pregnant women who become Navy SEALs for a day. But it was American Chopper that was one of the first to capture our attention back in 2003. The show was uncut and cut-throat. Language no mother would want to hear from her kids, drama that we wouldn’t wish on our worst enemies and to top it off, none of it was scripted!

Paul Teutul Sr. suffered at the hands of his alcohol addiction for over 15 years. It was with his wife’s urging to go to rehab that helped him deal with his addiction. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree for them unfortunately. Both of their sons abused substances too, and Paul Jr. found himself in rehab at only 16 years old.
